We are no longer reporting on the long list of Zeros that used to be under these totals because we are only a week away from clearance cut off and have made several attempts to reach those that were at the interest meeting, ran last year, or even ran Track and talked about running XC
We have been unable to reach them, so at this point we are starting to finalize roster and will
finish this process on August 1st.
This is a lot of Data Entry and if someone does not see their name, please send an e-mail.
This can happen and we do have back up and will add your name. This already happened
once with Rylie, so it could happen again.
Congratulations to every one listed above that has ran at least 2 miles so far this Summer! This
is what it takes to start the season strong and you are putting in the effort! it will go a long way
On Wednesday July 2nd we will have one of our workouts at SJVA. This will start at 6:30 AM. We will run until 8 AM and following the workout we will go into the weight room at 8 AM for a structured conditioning workout. While many other teams are running in the South Valley, it's the Team that goes above and beyond in the Summer months to prepare for League that will get to CIF. We plan for that to be us.
This is NOT a misprint. This is the same date as the date above to give our aur Athletes and Parents a choice based on Geographic preference or workout. We will also have a workout at Diamond Valley on Wednesday July 2nd.. This workout will start at 6:OO AM and if you want even more conditioning after the Diamond Valley workout, join us at SJVA in the weight room at 8AM.
For those that live in Menifee and have a challenging time getting to Hemet or San Jacinto during the Summer months this workout is for you. Even if you live in San Jacinto or Hemet and want to keep your mileage up, feel free to come to Menifee where we had plenty of Hemt/San Jacinto runners workout on our last day of Mileage Mania in June. We will practie again at Central Park.
We will be practicing on the SJVA Campus today from 6:30 AM until 8:30 AM giving everyone plenty of time to enjoy the Holiday.
By request from some of the runners on the team we will be practicing at Laguna Beach on Satrday mornIng at 7 AM. This will be updated in a few days on exactly where we will be meeting and other detiails. .
The rest of July will be updated in a few days. However, this is a good plan for week It is understood that not everyone is going to be able to get to every practice. In fact, it's impossible because many are at the same time. However, by having multiple practices at the same time spread out we increase the percentages of people that can attend. Some of the longer drives are set up so that our runners experience different conditions, softer land to run on, change of scenery, etc. Again, not everyone will have the schedule ability to do all of these. The key is to attend what you can attend and build as many miles as possible.

Now, the entire month of July is up. The schedule features workouts in San Jacinto, Hemet, Menifee, and beyond like the Beach, MSAC and even Races in July that our team can join at La Serna.
Even though our Team can join, to stay consistent with CIF rules just wear basic blank clothing and nothing that says SJVA. More than 10 Teams have signed up for these Races also from area So Cal. High Schools and they also will wear generic clothing as everyone cooperates with the CIF Rules for off season as the CIF First Date to be eligible to compete in a CIF Meet is on Monday August 18th.
We have more Athletes cleared right now than we had on the entire teams last year and we still have many more that are not even cleared yet.
Don't hold back and continue to recruit more runners to the Team as we are trying to build a Roster to at least 90 between the two teams. However, as of August 1st we will no longer be able to add athletes.
August 1st is the date that we will finalize the Roster. You have less than 2 weeks to get cleared and it's a process, so if you are not cleared or know someone that wants to join. Please get cleared quickly. We can't slow down time and we want as many Athletes as possible running for SJVA this season!
Both the High School and Middle School compete in Leagues. With the High School Varsity having an opportunity to qualify for the CIF Post Season.

Total Miles run by each Cross Country Runners over the Summer starting on Tuesday June 3, 2025 is listed below
The Practice Schedule on the left is the answer this Summer to the form that we had the Runners on the Team fill out.
We have close to a 50/50 split of Athletes from both Hemet and San Jacinto and a smaller amount in Menifee and now 3 Coaches for Summer Practices.
Therefore, on days like Wednesday June 11h we can actually make it easier for our Team to attend by holding one practice in Hemet at Diamond Valley and the other practice at SJVA. Athletes can always choose to attend the practice of their choice, even if it is the one furthest from them that day. The whole purpose of this is to build a strong regular attendance as the name of the game is really miles and minutes early in the season like we are.
As more of our runners get cleared it can get confusing on the reporting of miles to the Tracker online. This is why we provide a copy of the mileage ran to the runner at each practice and the Coach keeps a copy. In fact, it would not be impossible up to this point that a mistake or two could have been made. So, runners are encouraged to always save their mileage tracker signed off by a Coach so that we can make any adjustments needed along the way. We have had some cases where we can't make out handwriting and some things can be off.
Speaking of clearances, we began Mileage Mania in May as Track was winding down. At that time if you ran Cross Country in the 2024 season you were eligible to workout with and earn mileage without doing anything. If you ran Track you were eligible as long as you went online and clicked the Cross Country box and had an existing non expired physical. Even if you think you are cleared, some clearances had not signed a couple of items and you many have been cleared a few weeks ago but now you need to go back in and sign off on some things.
In the first few weeks of Mileage Mania we had a Chiropractor help us with families that did not want to wait for a future date for a Physical and they just wanted to get it out of the way. If you are in this boat right now, please reach out because in a few weeks if you are not 100 percent cleared you will have to wait to compete in Cross Country in 2026 as the the Athletic Office is wrapping everything up early this year (we only had up until the first league meet of the season last year because we were new and had to recruit runners.)
At SJVAMileageTracker.Com, our mission is to support runners in achieving their personal goals and preparing to win the South Valley League in 2025. We provide a comprehensive platform for tracking your running mileage effectively and efficiently.
When you've just ran a High 9 and you feel like you don't have anything left or when you've done agility drills or hills to the point where you don't feel like you can ever run another mile. It's time to take a break and look to the left hand side of this page (if you are on a desk top) or right under this if you are on your phone.
Running is not 100 percent physical. A big part of is mental and take a look at these quotes that can help your mind develop as a runner. Quotes that can inspire you!
These quotes will carry you. Some are fun, some are funny and some will hit a nerve to make you go further and faster when you run again.
While other Sports tell you to go run a lap when you drop a pass, goof off, or even not pay attention. In our Sport Running is the Sport. What you do every day, is what other Sports use as their punishment.
During our interest meeting, i had every one write down the most miles they have ran in a day and just a couple of months into Mileage Mania more than 80 percent of you that have been participating have ran further in one day than your previous best!
Weather you are running as an SJVA 6th Grader, Middle School runner, JV runner or lucky enough to be on of the 7 Varsity. The average person can't do what you do! in your Sport, the competitions do not have timeouts , we don't have a timeout in the middle of the race. It's all about who has the most endurance! As a Mileage Mania participant, you are doing something that will carry you beyond High School. The Discipline that goes with Running Distance can lead you to that Job or Promotion 20 years from now, you'll see.. But, for now enjoy what you do and since you read all this, please send me an e-mail at nlacapria@sjacademy.org and let me know what your 2025 Cross Country Goal is.
If you plan on running THIS Saturday morning (7/26/25) at La Serna High School in Whittier please send me an e-mail and I will forward our runners names to the Meet Director who you'll meet Saturday (Joe).
